Adapter Defect for Apple Pencil

Wondering if others had seen this happening yet? Also, didn’t really see an appropriate forum. User uploaded fileUser uploaded file

I noticed earlier this week that’s the adapter for my Apple Pencil is cracked on both rounded sides and part of the plastic is starting to splinter. I should state that I’ve had it less than a month an it has only received normal use. I thought that maybe I had somehow caused it but couldn’t think how. So I went to the Best Buy that I purchased the Apple Pencil from to see if they had a replacement adapter (they don’t and not sure if they exist, but such a small part SHOULD be sold separately for replacement). While waiting for someone to help me I checked out their Apple Pencil that was on display and it had the same cracks on both sides. Don’t know if this Best Buy maybe received a bad shipment, or if this is a more universal issue, and wondering what support Apple can offer?

Thanks!
