The new iOS update has messed up my phone -as they usually do! I need to have it rolled-back but HOW?

12.0.1 has spoiled apps Like voice recorder like apple’s voice recorder

How can I roll-back until apple fix bugs..?

Okay, I got a call back from Apple this morning and they explained that they could roll back the iOS if it was a beta version (from 12 onwards is currently not!)

So they got me to reset everything and restart my phone and then got back to me and did things on their side with a diagnostic feature I had to set off in the settings section

It’s pretty much sorted it all and I would say the forum/discussions could probably be seen as a last resort, as it were, as most problems should be dealt with directly?

I for one will try this in any future problems 👍

Thank you kiltedTim

Basically I use the voice recorder a lot and after the upgrade, sometimes it plays back; sometimes it doesn’t..

sometimes it records; sometimes it doesn’t...

the waveform is never in sync with the edit line and sometimes it edits; sometimes it doesn’t...

sometimes you can press the pause button and it turns into an arrow button but carries on playing; sometimes you press the arrow buttom but it just turns into a pause button but doesn’t even play...

The whole thing is a bit of a mess!

Also it seems to me that, when posting audio via a third party app, such as WhatsApp, it takes much much longer to post if at all (but admittedly this is a subjective thing as I’ve never really bothered doing timing tests on posting to what’s app)

... and another:

The waveform no longer turns a different colour once it’s been recorded over so you can no longer recheck your edits or dubs!

I don’t want to sound too cynical but is it likely that Apple is planning to offer another (paid!) App in the very near future to replace its own voice recorder and therefore hobbled the original app in preparation…?
