Finder / Folder Content not refreshing when copying and creating files.

Same problem here with Mojave, Mid 2015 15" Macbook Pro. A laptop that costs 1500euros and can't properly update/display the files in the Finder application... This is ridiculous!!!

What I posted was not a permanent fix, but an immediate "check" on that one instance of moving the files.

This is getting too old for comfort. Plus I've noticed that if I drag a file to a folder in the Finder, the folder doesn't always show that it's the target for the drag and drop.

Bizzare , changing this setting didn’t help the problem at all for me.

Kinda hard to see how it would, in all fairness... but if it works for them, great.

Any news on this Finder bug. It is becoming quite the nuisance.

Thanks for the tip: relaunching worked for me, too... but that's a stinky way to fix a problem. It just started yesterday for me—I had not had it before and I updated to Mojave a couple of weeks ago....

This worked for me but I found my customizations for the sidebar in finder were reset. I unchecked my user folder, desktop, and one other. When I deleted the plist and relaunched, it came back but the directory listings were correct. Weird.

I have noticed this a couple of months ago, but could not find anyone else talking about it online so assumed it was just me.

That finder is not reliably indicating the contents of folder is deeply concerning to anyone who values their files. The way you treat an empty folder is quite different to how you treat one filled with valuable content.

Running open -R [filename] on the file then makes the file appear in Finder. I recall the difference between the hidden and unhidden file was in one of the extended attributes, but will have to update this post when I reproduce it.

I made a reproduction video and logged an official bug (https://bugreport.apple.com/web/?problemID=48545365) not sure if people will actually be able to view it except Apple people.

Nobody's looked at the bug even though I logged it a week ago, sad.

got exactly the same issue since two days. incredible apple did not fix this in two months. relaunching finder helps, but is annoying.

Same issue with a MBP TB 2016.

I could not find on the internet any other solution or any announcement for a fix from Apple.
