Quicktime Player Not Exporting

I recorded a video using Quicktime Player.

When I tried to save/export it, it is stuck at a certain point and is not exporting.

The Export wait is increasing every minute and at a point it went onto 3652345hrs.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6), QuickTime Player Version 10.4

Hey there, rsmad,

I see from your post that you're trying to export a movie you created in QuickTime, but it seems to be taking an extraordinarily long time. Specifically, in your screenshots I see 7 hours, but you also mentioned it also saying much longer than that. I'd be happy to help!

Based on what you've shared, I would suggest first cancelling the export, then saving your work. After that, quit QuickTime by pressing Command+Q on your keyboard or selecting QuickTime > Quit QuickTime from the Apple  menu, and restart your Mac: How to turn your Mac on or off - Apple Support .

Once the computer is back on, open QuickTime and try exporting your video again. If it still won't work, repeat the above steps, but boot into safe mode when you turn the computer back on: Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support . Once you're in safe mode, try exporting the video again.
