CarPlay problem with phone xs max and 2018 Mercedes

im having this weird problem - I had CarPlay working an iPhone xs max with my 2018 Mercedes but the last time I connected the iPhone to the USB port that works with car it never showed up on the dispaly

I tried rebooting the iPhone which didn't work so I told the iPhone to forget the car and try to make a new connection but it can't seem to find the car

I can't tell if its problem with the phone or the car - im running iOS 12.01 but it was working with that version of iOS at one point

My 2018 Mercedes CLA250 is in the body shop so I rented KIA. Interestingly enough my iPhone X’s max running iOS 12.0.1 works just fine with Apple CarPlay in the Kia

Same issue here. I went to my audio guys... three iphones, two audio systems and numerous different lightening cables and nothing worked. This morning I went to the Apple store in Tampa (phone TS were complete idiots) and found a tech who had the same issue after he loaded IOS 12.0.1. He promised to take the matter to his manager. Hopefully the supremely arrogant programmers at Apple will admit their quality control is pure crap and fix this problem immediately.

I thought it might be a problem with 12.0.1 but what’s odd is it worked for awhile under that release then just stopped without my changing anything on the phone or updating ant software

Perhaps I rebooted the phone and that caused it to stop working but I don’t recall even doing that. I’m still going to take the car to my dealer even though I doubt they will have a clue. Hopefully an iOS update will solve the problem
