Image Capture not working

Hello!
Since I upgrade to MOJAVE, my image capture is not working. It opens the window, shows my digital camera, but doesn't appear any image on the SD card.

Any help?

Ok this is a great thread and I think that thanks to DuKe1776 I found what the problem/bug actually is:

It has to do with the preview mode of both Image Capture or Preview.

If you open Image capture and switch the preview mode to list instead of thumbnails it works as it should i.e. you can drag, multi-select with shift, properly import etc.

The option is on the bottom left of the main screen (excluding the sidebar) - pardon my dark mode:

If you have thumbnails selected it wont work for Preview either. The difference is hat the default for Image Capture is thumbnails but for Preview the default is list.

Hope I helped and maybe someone should report this bug to Apple in order for them to have a more specific scope.

So what I am trying to do is transfer my photos from iPhone to external hard drive. I used Image Capture and it sometimes does not show me the photos or it starts to import and then fail in minutes showing me error message.

I tried using Photos but it seems like I can not import my photos to external hard drive.

I did not think of using iMovie or FCP, can they import to a hard drive? how can I do that? what I know is that they import to the program itself only

Hi - I'm having the same problem. It might be after updating on my iMac [High Sierra OS 10.13.6 - I don't want Mojave, yet...]

, Image Capture is no longer working on my iMac to import my photos from my iPhone SE. When I launch IC, it only shows two images on the phone. I do NOT want to use Photos [since I did not have a good experience with iPhoto]. It also won't import from Preview. thanks

obvious route if you have a removable camera card..
however, I'm trying to get thousands of photos off my iphone to free up space.. there is no card to remove.

Mine automatically move to my Macs from my iPhone.

If you are trying to move them with Image Capture, you have to wait until IC completely indexes every photo on your iPhone. If you have a lot, I can imagine it may never finish.
