Image Capture not working

Hello!
Since I upgrade to MOJAVE, my image capture is not working. It opens the window, shows my digital camera, but doesn't appear any image on the SD card.

Any help?

Ok this is a great thread and I think that thanks to DuKe1776 I found what the problem/bug actually is:

It has to do with the preview mode of both Image Capture or Preview.

If you open Image capture and switch the preview mode to list instead of thumbnails it works as it should i.e. you can drag, multi-select with shift, properly import etc.

The option is on the bottom left of the main screen (excluding the sidebar) - pardon my dark mode:

If you have thumbnails selected it wont work for Preview either. The difference is hat the default for Image Capture is thumbnails but for Preview the default is list.

Hope I helped and maybe someone should report this bug to Apple in order for them to have a more specific scope.

This is ridiculous! I've been travelling for the past month, taking 1000's of Photo's with my Nikon camera and haven't been able to transfer the photos to my mac 🤬

... As I'm writing this, my photo's have magically appeared in Image Capture. My guess is that maybe I have so many photo's on the SD card that it was just taking a long time to load?

Anyhow, some sort of loading indicator would be appreciated Apple devs!

Device: iPhone X

OS: High Sierra v10.13.6 (latest version as of Monday 18th Feb 2019)

If this helps anyone at all. I had major issues at first with Image Capture (and the app Photos) with my iPhone X recently; everything from device recognition, to device recognition without any visible photos in the list, to slow loading and error messages (keep in mind I don't use iCloud at all and do not have it operational on any devices at present).

After trawling through many forums looking for answers and doing all the usual tricks, I eventually found a solution that worked for me after about 2 hours. These are the steps I had taken:

  1. Backed up my device on iTunes first (and also saved my data using Time Machine)
  2. Made sure both my iOS and OS were up to date
  3. After I restarted all my devices and saw everything come up in my Image Capture, I realised what was causing me issues was Image Capture struggling to deal with the fact I was trying to import a short time lapse video (despite the fact it was recorded natively using my phone without any editing or filters applied – less than 22mb file), which caused all the problems again and everything stopped working.
  4. Rebooted my iPhone X using the back up saved from iTunes
  5. Image Capture returned to normal after the reboot straight away. I made sure that the time lapse video was not selected this time, and easily imported the other 2gb worth of JPG and PNG photos swiftly without any further problems.
  6. Also worth checking System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy (tab) to make sure that these apps have read and write accessibility with the account you're using when trying to import items. Also that iTunes recognises and "trusts" your device when prompted.

I'd love to know if this helps out anyone else :)
