iPhone Xs is a WiFi jammer... !?!
iPhone Xs is a WiFi jammer... !?! I say this as a question and observation. Using a GL-AR750 router I can see how the iPhone Xs and other devices connect to the WiFi. Using a iPhone 7 Plus and other non iPhone Xs devices the router performs well, as expected. Connecting the iPhone Xs to the router 5 Gig network... Bam! … the router comes to a grinding halt. Like 56Kbps halt. Using the iPhone Xs on the 5 Gig network alone yielded expected performance. Adding a Mac Book Pro 2012, Ipad (2 Gen),.... you get the idea. It appears the iPhone Xs does not play well with others, that are on a lower end router. But when you are out and about, you have no control over what kind of router and other equipment you may hookup to. Apple may need to consider a more compatible protocol when working with lower end equipment. Maybe a 20 Mhz or 40 Mhz setting option instead of trying to hit the router with 80 MHz bandwidth while the other devices are at 20 Mhz. My point here is not that the iPhone has a defect, but the problem is within the low end routers. The router appears to be telling the iPhone Xs, "Yes 80 MHz is good, Hook up." , but in reality the lower end router can't handle it with other devices at different bandwidth. This is just my observations and may be why people are reporting slow WiFi performance. I want to hear from all of you. Because right now when I connect my iPhone Xs with other devices, the WiFi router bandwidth slows to a crawl.
