I am on the latest version of iTunes (12.9) and my iPhone is on ios 12.0.1. The iPhone charges when connected to my macbook, I've trusted the computer but the iPhone does not appear in iTunes...my old iPhone X works with iTunes though 😟

Try rebooting the computer while your device is connected to USB and unlocked.

iTunes 12.9.1 for Windows is out. Install that first. See iOS device not showing in iTunes for Windows if that hasn't fixed things.

I am facing the same problem too, i am using PC windows 7, and the itunes 12.9 cannot recognize the iphone xs max, i had update the iphone USB driver but still the same
iTunes does not recognise iPhone XS Max
