Camera Continuity keeps asking for Two-Factor Authentication

Hi

I run iOS 12.0.1 on an iPhone 6s. I just installed macOS Mojave on my MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012).

In Notes, I want to test Camera Continuity, but when I click Insert from iPhone > Take Photo, I shows me this warning:

When I click Continue, it takes me to the iCloud pane in System Preferences and there I can see that Two-Factor Authentication is turned on:

Then there's nothing I can do. If I go back and repeat the Camera Continuity test, the warning returns and I'm redirected to the iCloud pane.

What can I do to solve this? I already signed out of and back in to iCloud on both my Mac and my iPhone, but nothing is solved. Also turning off and on the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both devices, results in the same problem.

Hello AlexanderDecommere,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to use the Camera Continuity in the Notes app on your MacBook Pro with your iPhone, as you get a message about two-factor authentication, even though this is enabled on both devices. To help with your situation, use safe mode to start up your Mac as it does the following things:

Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

Loads only required kernel extensions

Prevents startup items and login items from opening automatically

Disables user-installed fonts

Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

Log into your user account and test the issue while in safe mode and then restart normally and test the issue again.

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac
Graphics performance limited in macOS Recovery, safe mode, or Guest User mode
