Servo922, I'm afraid you are completely correct. My initial euphoria was a total triumph of optimism over reality. My battery is shot. With every possible setting off, the battery discharges in a ridiculously short time. Very disappointed with Apple: this replacement battery is only 4 months old - and of course now out of warranty. Apple geniuses completely unhelpful.
Apple screwed up again in this new update, which drains your battery on your iPhone. What we can do is switch to another cell phone completely. Apple is no longer innovated after the loss of Steve Jobs.
I just updated forcibly, because Apple updates automatically overnight, to IOS 12.1.4 and now I notice that I can't even charge my iPhone 7 battery up to 100% let alone the fact that it's been draining in a much faster way than before the "upgrade". Didn't Apple have this same problem last year? There is something fishy going on here and I suspect that they are trying to make me buy a new phone but this time I am seriously considering the new Samsung model....better battery better camera better price etc etc What a shame, Apple used to be in the cutting edge of innovation
You are absolutely correct, Apple must find ways of increasing their sales. Since the loss of Steve Jobs, NOTHING innovative have been released from Apple, except odd ball features on the “old” IPhone. And to add insult to injury , they are asking $1,000 for a telephone ???!!! This battery drain was not accidental, if it was, its more proof that idiots are running the company .
Apple just make fool people's and nothing every nee updates full of bugs and battery drainage issues thats why i sold my iPhone 6 and switch to Nokia 6.1 2018 now my life become so relaxe good battery backup good in build quality no hanging lagging fast charging good camera received new updates every month and improve more...i suggest every body must try Nokia new smartphones
That’s a great idea, I will look at other smart phones this weekend . This will be my first venture from the IPhone, but I believe the time has come, there have been NO new innovations with the IPhone in the last several years. Apple is also the “last” company to introduce new features.
Just found the solution to the low life battery issue with the new iPhone update. Recommendation from Apple:

Apple is ****. **** IPhone. I used Iphone untill now. These idiots are making intented action on software in order to drain baterry. Actually . Iphone`s lithium baterry is normal and its life is not affected by usage, but they make changes in every update possible. When u update, they **** ur baterry. Its all about money. **** apple. **** iphone`s. IPhone is a ****** phone, its only brand on them, never can compare Iphone with Samsung. I changed today my iphone 7 with samsung galaxy note 9, big difference. Battery 3 days, not charging like Iphone 9999 times a day. **** apple
I am wondering if its been fixed in 12.2 or is it the fact it’s the beta software. I have found people running 12.1.1 beta and they are not having battery issues. Hopefully someone can confirm this. I’m happy where my phone is now and will probably never change iOS again as the 6s is becoming old now.
I am having the same battery drain problem after updating my iPhone 6. This same issue happened last year and it was resolved after the iOS update scandal on the news. Should we keep buying the expensive iPhones to avoid this type of problem or move to another brand?
How so?
I have a brand new iPad & am having horrible battery drain issues After this update. Why can’t y’all get your act together?
Same problem here, battery drops several percent per minute.
Tried 12.1 Public Beta 4 - same problem.
Everything was fine before 12.0.1
Totally different behaviour!
With my 6 and SE time to recharge was 3 days under iOS11. Under iOS12/ iOS12.0.1 time to recharge is nearly 4 days under same settings/ similar conditions of use.
After 12.0.1 update battery drain is high
