Iphone 7 cannot hear caller

iPhone 7 cannot hear or the other person calling me cannot hear me. The speaker option is not available. I tried restarting and trouble shooting my phone. Nothing is working

iPad mini Wi-Fi, iOS 7

If you can't hear a person on a call or voicemail or if the sound isn't clear on your iPhone - Apple Support

If the microphones on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch aren't working - Apple Support
