Siri unable to play music on 4G network

Im having trouble with my Siri. When I ask Siris to play an artist while on my Vodafone 4G, she‘ll Say “one sec”, wait a moment, then “Hmm, I’m having trouble playing that. If you arent of Wi-Fi, make sure mobile data is enabled”. It’ll then ask for Apple ID Verification.

I’ve checked multiple times that mobile data is on, streaming and downloads is also on. I’ve tried just resetting network settings, resetting all settings on the phone. Last thing that I don’t really want to do is wipe the phone and start again. Would this be the next step or is there a known software issue?

I’m using a XS Max running iOS12.0.1

Thanks

No I do not have any Apple ID verification pop-up. However I've been working with the Apple Support this whole morning and we came up with a solution:

- Sadly you will need to Restore your device to factory setting, I recommend you should use iTunes to do the installation. Remember to backup your phone before doing this

- After the installation was done, set up the phone as a new phone. Do not choose Restore from a Backup.

- Complete the installation on your new phone, download some music and enable Siri. Command Siri to play your songs. At this point Siri should be working fine

- Start restore your backup data you did before the installation. The phone will come back to the original state.

Good luck folks, worked with me.

Same issue here with 4G

It also happens with wifi but eventually it will play after approx 10-30s delay

With 4G, you asked for a song/album/artist, it will take 30s to respond to you with that sorry quotes above. However, after another minute plus a half, your requested song will be played (wow such amazing)

So if you meet this error, you’ll probably request for the same song again. Still error again, you will have to choose the song manually within Music. Then your Siri will have 2 orders in queue. You are playing a song you choose, but aftet 1.5 min, your first requested song pops up. After another minutes, your 2nd requested song will pop either, so it will definitely disrupt your experience

I’ve never had this issue until yesterday, same day as you
