Mac mini Late 2012

2.5 GHz iCore5

I recently just updated my Mac-Mini ram. I went from the original 2x2 GB DDR3 to 2x8GB DDR3. However, when I checked my system, it is only showing BANK/DIMMO 0 with 8 GB and BANK1/DIMMO as empty. I double checked to make sure it was seated correctly, but it is still showing the same.

Which slot is BANK1/DIMMO? The slot in the back or the slot in front?

and...

Is there something else I need to do for system to activate/recognize the BANK1 slot?

I am pretty sure before I changed the RAM both slots were showing 2BG a piece.

Thanks in advance.

Try switching the modules in the slots. If the other slot shows as empty then it may be a bad RAM module. Also check by installing your old RAM in one slot with one 8GB module in the other and test. If both show up then it's bad RAM.
