Setting up a dual monitor with my MacBook Air
I am not able to set up a dual monitor with my MacBook air. There is not a choice when I go under display. I have the adapter hooked up.

From my experience, the answer to your question is no. Apple controls your user experience. It does not want you to use dual monitors!
