iTunes Airplay/Bonjour for Windows 10 (1809) not working.

Hello.

I have spent a week unsuccessfully trying to get Bonjour and Airplay working on Windows 10 (1809).

NOTE that macOS and iOS Bonjour/Airplay all work flawlessly on my home network.

Uninstalled all Apple Windows products; installed the latest x64 version of iTunes. Also installed the free "Bonjour Browser" to look for services on the network.

At Windows startup, Bonjour may or may not work. The service is running all the time. If it is working, Bonjour Browser shows dozens of services on my home network, AND iTunes Airplay works well. As soon as I start ANY other network app (eg: Chrome) then Bonjour stops working! A reboot is needed to (possibly) re-enable Bonjour.

Windows Defender firewall is set up just fine for Bonjour and iTunes; disabling it doesn't help at all.

I have tried disabling IPv6 on my network interface. No help.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks you all for your consideration. Regards, M.

Hi, many thanks for your response. Yes, I had Googled and found that Apple article. As with the other apps, Bonjour works for a short time in IE and then stops working.

I have reinstalled many times; I actually extracted the Bonjour.msi installer from the latest iTunes64 .exe package.

I just tried one other suggested thing: I set the Bonjour service to "Automatic (delayed start)" which seemed to work for others. But not for me, sadly.

Best regards, M.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I found that article too, and I did end up removing all traces of Apple from the host, checking that all directories were removed (they were), rebooting, then doing a clean install of the full iTunes latest x64 download .exe.

Sadly it didn't help. Bonjour just "stops working" after a minute of so of running.

A reminder that Bonjour on macOS and iOS continues to run perfectly all the while on the same network.

I'm ready to make a call that Bonjour is incompatible with Windows 10 (1809) (including the latest fix patch). Can anyone contradict this via experience?

Regards and many thanks, M.

I'm with you. I have Home Sharing turned on in iTunes to share my movies from my PC to our Apple TV, and recently it's stopped working for reasons that are unclear to me. When I check in iTunes it tells me that Bonjour is disabled and that I need to re-enable Bonjour to resume Home Sharing. Only problem is Bonjour wasn't disabled. I tried reinstalling iTunes, restarting my devices, everything in theory looks okay but iTunes still says Bonjour is disabled. Everything had been working fine, can't think of anything that could have happened to have this happen other than the 1809 update.
