The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error -1.)

I already tried the Disk Utility steps mentioned in a different post (no luck).

Had to upgrade to 10.14 Mojave (now hating life), in order to restore iphone

But could not get Outlook to work so was
Forced to download new Microsoft Office.
I was able to download the package, but when I try to open it (install)

The installer gives me the error message.
The operation couldn't be completed
(com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error -1.)

Tried changing the name, tried different downloads.
Microsoft blames Apple for the problem.

Please help so I can start beginning to search for 5-6years of missing Outlook info.

I see that you're trying to install Microsoft Office for Mac on your iMac. The problem is, the operation couldn't be completed, and I'm happy to help.

How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac -- Reset the System Management Controller. Follow the steps under "How to reset the SMC on Mac desktop computers". See if you're able to complete the install once you're back to the desktop.

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac -- Restart your Mac in safe mode and see if you're able to install. Afterwards, reboot normally and log into your own user account. Remember this when booting in safe mode: Graphics performance limited in macOS Recovery, safe mode, or Guest User mode
