Audiobooks in iTunes 12

I have a fairly large audiobook collection in my iTunes 12.9.0.164. Yesterday I added a book (mp3) to the library. I have done this many times successfully. It usually lands in the Music folder and I typically open the info pane and tick audiobook for it to move itself to the audiobook library. This time my audiobook library disappeared. When I tick the Audiobook option in the dropdown box, I am sent to the Movies library. Nothing I do will allow me to show my audiobook library. How can I access my audiobook library? ( I have installed Mojave 10.4)

Make a smart playlist with the rule Media Kind is Audiobook and Name is not <empty>, or anything similar that will match all audiobooks. You can toggle the playlists view between All Playlists and <Media Kind> Playlists.

I have the same issue. Astonishing that nobody at Apple bothered to properly beta test iTunes Audiobooks with the latest update. Clearly they broke something with the update. Audiobooks have been neglected for some time as have podcasts. Mainly because people are using content that Apple derives no profit from is my guess, hence the lack of support and attention to these aspects of the iTunes software development. Too bad Jony Ive is not an audiobook listener. And if you try and report a bug with iTunes the latest version in the pulldown list is years old. No-one has updated that webpage on the Apple website to report iTunes problems for SEVERAL YEARS. This says a lot, don't you think?
