FCP X NIGHTMARE - MODIFIED FILE ERROR

Urgent...

I made the decision after moving on like most in the teams I work with to Premiere and recently came back to see if I could find FCPX suitable for editing a simple, basic wedding for a friend. I kept all of my media managed within the library as I assumed this would help the project be easily transferrable. I made sure to create proxies for all my clips as I am working on a macbook. I opened my library half way through my project and inexplicably a large number of my clips contain the "modified file" warning error about 1/2 way into my project being finished. I selected all of them, ctrl + clicked to select "transcode media". I just finished waiting 3 hours for this occur. After it was complete (nothing left in the background render window), I closed FCP and went to grab some coffee. I returned, reopened FCPX and the same G%$&#@ files that I wasted 3 hours on to re-render proxies still have the "modified file" warning error.

Does anyone know *** is happening and why FCP is doing this? Everything was imported correctly without interruption, all I did was switch my view in the viewer to "proxy". I'm more than half way into this wedding project otherwise i'd just re-start in Premiere. I wanted to give the program the benefit of the doubt see if I could edit a basic wedding video with FCPX since I use AMC and APP full-time and it seems to not want to work properly. Why is this happening?

Sounds like some program other than FCPX altered the media. I'd try these things:

Highlight the Library, in the Menubar goto File > Delete Generated Event Files > and from there delete render files and optimized media.

If that doesn't work, you can do the same thing manually by Right-clicking on the Library in the Finder and dig down until you find Transcoded Media/High Quality Media. In there look for aliases that go to the wrong path.

If that doesn't work, just re-import the media into a new library, then use the old project (timeline) in the new Library (drag it over).
