iPhone 6 Unresponsive screen with screen protector

I started experiencing problems with my iPhone 6 over the weekend where the screen became almost completely unresponsive to touch. I completed the steps below which seemed to fix the issue.

- Hard Reset

- Reset to factory settings

- Restore as new phone

- Remove screen protector

As the phone was working acceptably again after the above I decided to replace my screen protector today but as soon as the new screen protector was applied the screen again became unresponsive to touch.

Any idea why this would be?

Sounds like whatever screen protector you're buying isn't suitable for your device. If the screen protector was causing the issue and then wasn't when you took it off, anything you do with your iPhone (ie reset it) will not fix the problem. Try purchasing another screen protector and try that.

Or, instead of purchasing a new screen protector, try using no screen protector at all.

Setup an appointment with the Apple Genius Bar and have them take a look at it. They should be able to tell you what is causing the screen to not respond correctly.

Hi. Thanks for responding. My phone has always had a screen protector on and the one I replaced it with was the same as the one it previously had on. It seems as though the screen has become less sensitive to touch since the weekend. I need to press hard on the screen for any inputs to be taken.

Hi. In a perfect world where no one ever drops their phone (including their toddlers) this would be the ideal yes. But I have always had a screen protector with no issues. Even without the screen protector the phone is not responding to touch like it should.

There are no guarantees of course against damage if an iPhone is dropped. But an iPhone case like this one might diminish the impact somewhat yet not get in the way of the screen.
