After downloading Mojave one of our gmail accounts is no longer recognized. We tried deleting said account and adding it but it froze on the last window where it asks which apps use this account

I click on the Google icon and enter my username and password and then check off the apps I want to add to this account such as mail, calendar, notes etc and hit done. It freezes at that point and my only option is to hit cancel, the account isn't added and I'm back where I started. This has been going on for a week or so now and even my IT guy can't fathom it out. Mac Mail issues, I can no longer access my gmail account I am having problems with my Mac mail program. I can no longer access my gmail account. When I click on the internet account it says that I need "enter the password for the account. When I click on it, it opens a small box which has a circle and it just keeps circling. I can't add the password. I have gmail access thru my macbook pro, iphone etc. Anyone have an idea of how to fix this? How do I repair the program? [Edited by Moderator]

Apple Mail is signed into email account but not showing mailbox. Hello, Recently, I tried to signed into a gmail account to see them in the mail app in my MacBook Air. I was part way through the process when and unexpected event caused me to quit out and close the app. When I tried again to sign into the account, the Mail app said that it was already signed into it. However, I don't see the account in the mail app, in the mailbox list, or the preferences. I'm stuck at this point, not seeing any option to solve it. Is there any suggestions to fix this issue?

See if you can add it back while booted into the Safe Mode.

Thank you Eric but this didn't work either. I waited to see if Apple saw this problem and fixed it by updating but to no avail so just tried safe mode this morning and it did not work
