Battery Cycle Count

Hi

I have MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012). I purchased it from my best friend early this year (February) who had used it for 5 years. But overall it's condition has been perfect. And he even had made good additions to the hardware.
Now, my doubt and question. Recently, I noticed that the maximum battery cycle count for most of the Mac's including my version is 1000. But, then I checked mine. And there I saw Cycle Count as '1519', Condition as 'normal', Amperage (mA) as '-700' and Voltage (mV) as '11737'.
Should I worry? Should I do any service? I am actually worried seeing this statistics. Please give me a helpful solution.

Hello ashiqvp,

Welcome and thanks for using Apple Support Communities. I understand from your post you recently purchased a Mac from your friend and want to know if the cycle count you saw warrants any service. The article below will give you a better understanding of the cycle count and if and when it should be serviced. According to the chart that is in the article, it appears when the battery count reaches 1000 the battery is considered consumed.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the concern chris. But, though it shows 1519 as cycle count, condition is shown as normal. I am confused with that. And until now no sign of battery problems have been there. Also, I would like to know, if it is ok to replace a first quality battery from local iPhone and Mac service store rather than Apple store. I asked this because, as you know the cost of replacing battery from Apple store is little high compared to local store.
