What is the 'homed' process doing?

I just noticed my macbook pro late 2013 with OS X mojave (installed yesterday), draining the battery quite fast while just browsing the internet. I checked the activity monitor which processes were running and saw 'homed' was using a lot of my CPU (>150%). I googled this process but couldn't find much. Only one topic about xcode, but i don't have that application installed.
Also interesting is that it drops for a tiny bit to come back for a while again, as you can see in the graph of the activity monitor. Also the processes 'cloudd' and 'cfprefsd' seem related to it, as they rise and drop in usage with the 'homed' process.

So what is this process, what is it doing and where does it come from?
Thanks a lot in advance!
