Can't Login to iMessage on MacBook Air

Hello,

I have an updated MacBook Air, an updated iPhone 6s and an older iPad. I have been able to login to FaceTime on all three devices. However, for iMessage, I can't login on my MacBook Air. It works great on my iPad and phone but I get an error message every time I try logging in on my MacBook Air.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

MacBook Air, null

Just for clarity, the app is "Messages' on a Mac. "iMessages" is for iOS.

A Possible Fix for Messages

  1. Open the Keychain app in the Utilities’ folder,
  2. Delete com.apple.facetime in the passwords section,
  3. Reboot the computer,
  4. Log into the desktop, launch Messages; go to Preferences, sign out from the iCloud account,
  5. Log back into the iCloud account.
