Can't remove "viewsearch" pop-up from safari

I wasn’t quite sure what to do after your last post, but I dug into the search topic a little more and came across a user with the same type of problem mentioned in another Apple support discussion described here:

It was exactly what was happening with my Mac as well. Somehow the adware/malware added a new bookmark and bookmark folder that I didn’t notice since it was way down on my list. Simply deleting this bookmark folder did the trick. Thanks so much for your help!

I went through all the steps you mentioned and also restarted my macbook. It’s still there, so no luck.

I don’t know if it matters, but the first page that shows in the status bar is “homesweeklies.com”, then it redirects to “search.viewsearch.net”.

I tried all of these steps for both of those links. Nothing has worked.
