Basic Zoom function when composing mail

I saw the past posting and work around to enable Accessibility and using <command><option>8 for accessibility zoom and then using <command><shift>+ or - to increase or decrease zoom respectively. This works but not ideal user experience.

Would be much better if the <command><shift>+ or - worked on the composing email window similar to the convention through most apps. The fact that <command><shift>+ or - works in the reading pane and not the compose pane is bizarre.

Suggest getting rid of the dependency on Accessibility and remembering the <command><option>8 keycode. Allow Zoom with <command><shift>+ or - keystrokes similar to the Reading Pane and most apps!

If you just want to increase the whole window all you have to do is go to View drop down select zoom in, once you do that if you want zoom in more there will be in the search bar - on Google Chrome - a zoom + or - or reset back to normal. If you want to increase text size just use text to select. You have to use mouse clicks and I realize you want to use keyboard but this will work.

You don't have to keep highlighting as you type, you just type any letter say R, highlight that and increase it to the size you want then just click once and everything else you type will be same size without having to highlight it each time. If you're wanting to read it in large size but send it in smaller size you would of course have to highlight all of it and make it smaller again.

If you go to the reading pane and hit command shift + or -, you will see the view of the contents in the reading pane zoom in and out. Like when you're looking through a camera and zooming in and out. Nothing about the world you are viewing through the camera is actually getting bigger or smaller right?

Now open the compose window by replying to a message, for example. Don't select any content and try to do the same. Nothing happens. Selecting text and then doing the key strokes increases the font of the text. That is not my intention. I just want to zoom into the window in order to see what I'm composing larger. I usually use 12 point font in my response and my eyes get tired using the default zoom.
