Hi, can anyone with a new MacBook Pro please tell me what their boot camp device name is called. Mine is disk0s3. Is this correct?

Ventura bootable installer drive alerts “the target must run through the installer springboard” I have a MacBook Pro 16” from 2021. I created the bootable USB drive as instructed through Apple’s support site. I see the message “the target must run through the installer springboard” when I select my external hard drive at the installer disk selection screen. I waited, but the installation did not continue. How may I perform an overlay installation of Ventura on that disk? Is it a matter of deleting old macOS system information on the target disk? Do I just need to wait for the installer springboard to run (I wasn’t instructed to select a different disk)?

Creating a Boot Camp drive Hi, I'm using a mid-2011 27" iMac with Sierra 10.12.6 in a Fusion Drive (I added an SSD to the spare slot on the logic board). It has the latest firmware 87.0.0.0.0. I want to create a Windows Boot Camp partition but because I have Fusion Drive, the Boot Camp Assistant won't work properly; I'll have to do it manually it seems. I ran the Terminal command 'diskutil list' and this is the result: I boot from the Logical Volume named 'Macintosh' as confirmed here: On the HDD /dev/disk1 we can see that there is a partition named 'Sierra' along with an associated Recovery HD, identifiers disk1s4 and disk1s5 respectively. These are never used and AFAIK I could remove them and create the Boot Camp partition in that space, using Terminal commands. Please could you expertly advise if this will work and it would be super-helpful if you could please inform the correct command procedure for this operation, ie. from eliminating the existing 2 partitions up to creating the bootable NTFS partition, into which I'll then install Windows 7 from a USB stick. Link Bootcamp after clean install Hi Im sure the answer is here somewhere but I can't find it. For various reasons I would like to do a clean install of Big Sur. My problem is I have an active Boot Camp partition that works just fine. Is there anyway I can do a fresh install of the Mac OS and relink to the existing Boot camp partition or can someone advise me of best practise to go forward, maybe clone the windows installation and reinstall? Yes, if you have macOS on APFS. Post the output of

diskutil list

and it can be easily explained.

On Mojave/High Sierra, on APFS,

EFI - disk0s1
APFS Container - disk0s2
Bootcamp - disk0s3

Thanks. So it was installed as the correct identifier. I didn't realize that EFI was at disk0s1. I thought the APFS was using that identifier.
