Hi.
I had also this problem on my iPhone 7.
There were 4 things that i did:
This is what i did and my text messages notification is normal for the past 2 weeks.
I hope that this will also help you.
Got the same issue with my XS.
Contacted Apple yesterday and they advised to bring it to the service center for diagnostics.
Has anyone of you done that? Do they replace the phone or what?
I have an iPhone XR purchased in June 2019 and am also having this issue.
I have the same problem too and cant seem to find any satisfying solution. I have a friend who also has this issue and we both have an i-phone 6s+.
I changed the message tone which seemed to help for a few weeks but it's come back again. I wonder if it's got something to do with shared devices under the same apple id.
Im getting a Samsung if they dont fix it soon or some type of android phone. I- Phones cost enough so it should'nt be happening.
This may very well work. I’ll try it.
I thought it might have been magnetic interference by having it near my laptop speakers but thats not the case because it happens away from it as well.
Best of luck. It didn’t fix it for me.
I’ve had this problem for like 2 years now. It’s really getting old 😡 I did a full factory reset and it quit for 2 days and went back to stupid.
I love how this has been happening to people for years now and Apple hasn’t done a thing to help. 😡😡
I did the same thing and 3 days later the garbled text sounds are back 😞 Apple really needs to fix this in a patch, it’s been happening for far too long and I’m quite sick of it.
When I had an 8 it happened maybe once out of every 100 notifications.
Some here seem to have it occur more often and I couldn't tell you why, but it isn't common to all iPhones (8s or any other model.)
If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speakerBefore you follow these steps, see if your speaker works: In Settings > Sounds (or Settings > Sounds & Haptics), drag the Ringer And Alerts slider up or down a few times.
- If you don't hear any sound, your speaker might need service. Contact Apple Support.
- If you do hear sound, use the steps below and check the sound after each step.
Check sound with an app
Open an app that has music or sound effects, then adjust the volume with your volume buttons or the slider in Control Center.
Plug headphones into your device
If you can hear sound through the headphones but not through your device's speakers, unplug the headphones and clear dust or debris from the headset port on your device.
Restart your device
Turn off your device, then turn it back on. Check the sound again. If you still don't hear any sound, contact Apple Support.
yeah...this has been going on for quite a few people for a long time, can we get an actual software update to fix this problem before I throw my phone in the trash and buy something else? this retarded distorted text alert sounds is driving me crazy :( k thanks
I am very familiar with the issue and have experienced it for years across several models of phone, so I am well aware of it, though as mentioned, about once every month to month and a half.
if you haven't, please let Apple know of your experience here:
