TextEdit won't save

Hi there!

Having just upgraded to Mojave from Sierra, I've gotten back into the swing of things—until around last week when TextEdit started giving me fits by choosing not to save any changes I made to any document (or even started a new one). Worse still, when I manually try to save it, it doesn't work either. It just says:

The document "(insert file name here).txt/.rtf(d)" could be not saved. Your changes will not be saved until the problem is resolved.

Well, what problem does Apple mean by that? Hopefully that resolution will be part of the next update.

P.S.: I read elsewhere this was a common error for Mountain Lion users—could this possibly be a relapse??

There's a big difference:

*.rtf = Rich Text File

*.rtfd = Rich Text File with Display (basically, an *.rtf with pictures)

Okay thanks. As you can tell, I don't work with TXT and RTFD files often. Now I can say, I have no problems creating or modifying and saving .txt, .rtf, or rtfd files. Are you saving them to an internal or external drive etc.?
