Cannot restore the startup disk as a single partition

Hello I want to restore the startup disk as a single partition but got the "The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition." message on bootcamp assistant.

I tried several things to fix that but didn't work (formatting the bootcamp partition in different formats..)

Here is the diskutil list:

ok if I update my mac with Mojave will it rebuild the Recovery HD as well?

I do not recommend Mojave. It has too many issues with Bootcamp. I suggest you stay with Sierra and re-install to get Recovery HD, and then install Windows.

I don't want to use or reinstall windows with bootcamp right now. Just stay with a mac os partition.

Let us first get all the space back in to Macintosh HD, then we can address the Recovery HD issue.

Run

diskutil eraseVolume jhfs+ BC1 disk0s3

diskutil eraseVolume jhfs+ BC2 disk0s5

and post the output of

diskutil list

Is it normal that my external disk is still listed even if it's not connected to my mac?

No. Did you physically remove the disk, without ejecting it?
