iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. You do not have permission.

I am getting this message when i try to connect my Iphone XR device to iTunes via Mac Book air "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. You do not have permission."

iPhone XR, iOS 12.0.1

What version of iTunes is installed on what version of OS X? The minimum requirement is going to be iTunes 12.8.0.150 on OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan.

you must update your iTunes version to no less than 12.8 for the iPhone to show in iTunes.
