How to enable two USB inputs?

I am trying to enable two USB inputs in Garageband, one for guitar and one for bass. It would be nice to add a third for a mic too, but for now, just the two would be great. When I try to create a new track and set it to the 2nd input, it changes the first input also to the 2nd. I cannot separate the two inputs, as they are always the same. I am using High Sierra and GB 10.3.1.


I can record with each separately, but not both at the same time. In Audio Midi Setup, I see both available.

you can only assign a single "input device" in GB, in order to use two (or more) you need to create an Aggregate Device.

you can only assign a single "input device" in GB, in order to use two (or more) you need to create an Aggregate Device.
