iOS 12.x worst version - iPhone 6

Hi all,

Since upgraded to 12.0 and updated to 12.0.1 I´ve got this major issue --> Touch - Unable to complete Touch ID setup - Please go back and try again.

Already done -->1. Use Touch ID on iPhone and iPad - Apple Support 2. If Touch ID isn't working on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support 2. iPhone reset and nothing.

Apple local support only want sell new iPhone and the issue borned after 12.x, please anyone who REALLY knows how to REALLY solve this issue instead basic hw refresh "solution"?

When new 12.x update is going to be avaiable?

Tks

iPhone 6, iOS 12.0.1, null

Apple does generally give announcements about future updates of software other than than announcements giving a a general time frame for major releases. Do not expect to hear any announcements from Apple about iterative releases to iOS 12.

I refuse waste my time driving to local Apple support due it´s a software bug.

Except that you don't know that it's a software bug. You've assumed it is and, from the sound of it, refused to do much more troublshooting.

You've said you "reset" your iPhone but that generally means you did a forced restart. Have you restored your phone to factory state and tested it?

It´s a sw bug due it starts only after 12.x upgrade and touch feature worked many years perfectly before the upgrade. Also there are many others users reporting the same so it´s how I assume that due it makes sense to me.

I did both --> simple reset and factory hw reset even knowing that these steps almost never solve the issues and they sound like appeling and rude troubleshooting steps and should be the last choice from my point of view.

I´m thinking to downgrade but not sure the procedure to do that.

X-ray in my opinion are logs, print-screens, local user procedures.. Hw reset is more likely surgery but it´s just opinions and nothing to bring the solution.

Have you never heard of exploratory surgery?

I agree with Tim. You have a hardware issue. You need to follow the final step in the articles you linked to in your initial post and have Apple check out your phone.

Tks for the inputs.

All vendors have a road-map it´s basic from development perspective.

Also a better test plan should be implemmented so it would mitigate the risks and decrease issues on General Availability (GA) versions and it´s basic too.

I refuse take my phone to local Apple Support due it started on 12.x it´s a software upgrade issue and not hw issue so it doesn´t make any sense to me.Someone from develop team should take care and solve asap major issues like this or maybe somenone here solved it using different procedures and this is what I´m looking for.

I really appreciate if you have any different suggestion as "local Apple store/hw refresh". I´m looking for solution to an issue created by 12.x upgrade to many users where I´m included and I refuse waste my time driving to local Apple support due it´s a software bug.

No, they don't always solve the problem (for some things, they almost always do, though). They are trouble shooting steps. They help identify the cause of the problem. It's like an x-ray. An x-ray does not fix the pain in your ankle but it can help determine if the problem is a fracture or something else.
