Emailing screenshots from Mac Mail to a recipient with Windows PC

Emailing screenshots from Mac Mail to a recipient with Windows PC becomes a thumbnail on thier end and cannot be enlarged or clicked on. I have heavily researched this with multiple users of Windows based PC.

I read up entirely on this thread screenshot too small to read and the answer given did not work at all. I sent all jpg screenshots as "Actual Size" and it did nothing on the recipients end. Why on earth is this happening? You would think Apple would take a moment and correct this...clearly not.

Does anyone else know or have any motivation to research and solve this?

Hi,

How are you taking the screenshot? I always use CMD+SHIFT+4 and drag an area out, this then adds the screenshot of the area to my clipboard.

If you upgrade to or are running MacOSX Mojave then you can use CMD+SHIFT+5 and a toolbar will appear and allow you to modify how the screenshot is captured and where it goes after that.

I personally have never had an issue sending screenshots to Windows users and do so nearly everyday.

I have El Capitan 10.11.6 due to the age of my Mac Pro. I always use CMD+SHIFT+4 saved in a folder where I then attach through my email attach icon and send it from there. There is no other magic sauce method that I am aware of that can prevent this. I cannot be the only one that has this issue no?

Or am I the only one to blame for still using a old Mac Pro. Sad that Apple has to keep updating the software to slowly keep things obsolete.
