Voice over on at startup after 10.14.1 install

Immediately after I have installed the 10.14.1 update Voice Over has been on on each startup.

There is apparently no way to turn it off and it is off already in the login preference pane.

I guess it is a bug of this update, any idea on how to resolve this as it is very annoying having your computer talk in the middle of a meeting (or the night) when you restart... ;-)

Hello dinofromlondon,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that VoiceOver is enabled every time your Mac is restarted. You've come to the right place for a resolution.

To help isolate possible causes for this behavior, I would like to have you confirm that the following features are not selected in System Preferences on your Mac:

  1. Accessibility > VoiceOver > Enable VoiceOver
  2. Users & Groups > Current User. Click on the lock and enter your user password, then select Accessibility Options and confirm that VoiceOver is not selected
  3. Accessibility > Zoom > Speak iTunes under the pointer
  4. Accessibility > Speech > Enable announcements
  5. Accessibility > Speech > Speak selected text when the key is pressed
  6. Date & Time > Clock > Announce the time

Let us know if the behavior persists after disabling those settings.

Cheers!
