reverse region

Someone asked this question on another forum but there wasn't a good answer and I found myself interested in knowing why as well.

If you copy an audio region onto the same track, then use the file editor to reverse one of those regions, it also reverses all the other similar regions. Could someone explain why that happens to the copied files as well?

Thanks in advance. 🙂

Hi

What you are seeing here demonstrates the basic fundamentals of how Logic deals with audio:

You have an audio file

In the Tracks area, you have a region ( or multiple regions) that point to the audio file or sections of it.

In the File Editor, you process (destructively) the underlying audio file

All regions that point to that area of the audio file are affected, because the FILE has been altered.

Recent versions of Logic allow for non-destructive Reverse functionality (per region) via the Region Inspector.
