Phone badge not clearing calls after reviewing
There is a little "badge" count on my "phone" icon. It displays a red circle in the upper right hand corner that is supposed to indicate when there are new missed calls and voicemails waiting. In theory I should be able to review my recent calls for 3-5 seconds and it should clear the missed call count, but this has never worked. Some have suggested if you clear all of your recent calls it will clear the counter. This will clear the counter, but I would like to keep the recent call list intact. This is how I call people back and make sure I have followed up. I could probably live with out the "missed call" badge, but the same badge is also used for voicemail. If a customer leaves me a a voice mail message, I ideally need be notified one is sitting there.
This is happening on all of our iphones for the last 6 years. (at least 8 iPhones 5s and 6s) (IOS 10, 11, now 12.1) I kept thinking Apple would resolve this one day, but they do not seem to be working on a solution. I realize these are older phones, but I have no desire to upgrade unless this issue can be resolved. I have googled and searched the apple forum for a solution and have seen 1000's people with the same issue, but have never seen a solution. The phone is at the current 12.1 ios. We have erased all settings and started new, rebooted hundreds of times, and the phone provider has even purged the phone profile and rebuilt it from scratch. This happens to multiple people with several different models. Most are able to just live with it, but I only use the phone for customer emergencies and it is a pretty big deal for this not to work in my case.
I require a phone that notifies me of missed calls and voicemail messages. Most phones could do this 20 years ago. If I can't find a solution to this I will be forced to trade my iphone for a different product. It seems like a simple request, but after years of trying to resolve this I am about to give up. This is my last ditch effort to fix and hoping someone may have a solution?
Thanks!!!
