Mojave / Epson R3000 compatibility

Epson R3000/High Sierra: printing ok via USB.

EpsonR3000/Mojave: iMac recognises printer but no communication for data transfer "sending data to printer" message with no result.

Trashed printer driver folder and reinstalled with same result. Epson website stated the latest driver is for 10.13.--

but on same page recommended it for both 10.13.-- and 10.14.1, i.e High Sierra and Mojave.

Is R3000/Mojave incompatible or am I missing something? The printer is not malfunctioning - I checked it by printing from an iPad

iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), macOS Mojave (10.14.1), 3.5 Ghz Intel core i7, 32GB 1600 Mz

I am using an MBP mid-2017 (configured with the works!). I began to have problems printing A3 photos from the Epson R3000 with High Sierra 13.6. Long print runs (hours) and partial pages with errors. I am now using Mojave 14.0.1. I mistakingly thought the new system software would solve my problems. I tried everything, so I thought, without positive result. When I went to the Epson website, I found links for a printer firmware update and a software patch. After resetting the printer library again, I uploaded the FW and patch. The printer now works normally.

Additional info: Epson UK reckon the American website has upgraded the drivers. The driver software is still 2016 but the US website states it is ok for 10.13 and 10.14. In practice it is ok for wi-fi and ethernet, but not for USB connectivity.

If the Epson website is used to check the product for software compatibility, support stops at Sierra. It's confusing, but possibly Epson are "in process" as regards Mojave.
