From my understanding the USB Camera adapter also allows wired devices to work, such as keyboard or midi devices. I would like to know if the Lightning to USB C cable would work with my USB C keyboard, so I don't have to buy the camera adapter.
Years ago some USB devices did work. But that was way back in the ipad 1 or 2 days. Plugging anything in often gets you a ‘device requires too much power’ warning.
The only way for you to know for sure is if you buy the device and try. I don’t have it, won’t have it, so all I can tell you is going by the past several years of using an apple iPad there is very limited support for peripherals - reading from a camera card for example.
Buy it, try it and find out for yourself Because I honeslty think that’s the only answer you will accept. (this is just a user to user forum, you are not speaking to Apple so we know what you know)
The only keyboards iPads support are bluetooth ones, or the smart keyboard designed by apple to work with ipads
Thank you for your input. I guess I will purchase a Camera USB adapter.
