headphone jack adapter volume is too low to hear On iPhone 8

When using the headphone adapter jack for iPhone 8s plus, I can barely hear the music or audiobook even with the volume maxed out. Can this be fixed?

Hi there, Vabeachvol,

After reading your post, I understand you're having trouble hearing audio when using wired headphones with your iPhone 8s Plus. I'm happy to help!

Based on what you've described, I would recommend the following steps from If your headphones don't work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support :

If you can't hear any sound or if only one side of your headphones works

  1. Adjust the volume with the volume buttons on your iOS device or use the Volume slider in Control Center.
  2. To see if you need a replacement, try a second pair of headphones. If the second pair works, contact the manufacturer of the initial pair and ask if you need a replacement. If the second pair doesn't work, contact Apple Support.

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities! Cheers.

Thank you for your reply, however, please read my post. The headphones are NOT the problem. The adapter for the lightning port is the problem. I know how to turn the volume up. The headphones work in other devices perfectly. The headphones do not work when plugged into the ADAPTER. Other headphones do not work in the adapter either. I want to know if this is a known issue with the adapter.

Thanks for the clarification, Vabeachvol,

While the issue may not be your headphones themselves, the steps provided are intended to help isolate issues with the headphones, adapters, and the jack in your phone. If they haven't worked to solve your issue, and/or you've isolated the issue to a specific piece of hardware, you should reach out to Apple Support directly for service options: Contact Apple Support .

Cheers.
