Macbook Pro 2018 (with touch bar) or Macbook Air 2018 for video editing?

I am in the market for a new MacBook. I currently have the early 2015 MacBook Air. It has worked well for me, but I am ready to upgrade. I edit 1080p video on Final Cut Pro, and my current Air has been run down. As I am editing, that little rainbow circle will constantly come up. It will run the fan on full blast whenever I am exporting to YouTube, and sometimes just shut down. I know that the new MacBook Air has a faster processor, but I am worried it won’t be as good as the Pro for long term. I really like the new Air, so I am hoping it will be good enough for what I need it to do. I am also a full time student, so I need a long battery life and portability. Which Mac is best for me, MacBook Pro 2018 or MacBook Air 2018?
