HP8710 won't print in color after installing Mojave

My HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 will no longer print in color after installing Mojave on my MacBook Pro. I've deleted and re-added the printer and reset the printing system -- but it still fails to print in color.

I am able to get some color when I print test pages and clean the printheads -- but it goes right back to grayscale printing.

Have you checked for a driver update?

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

Safe Mode - About

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

I'm starting to believe I have an issue with the printer itself. It's now printing blue correctly, but not other colors. And, the test pages from the printer aren't right. I've inserted new ink cartridges, but no change. I'm suspecting the print head needs replacing even though the printer is just two years old. I checked the cost of the print head -- it's currently $140 from HP. The printer (HP 8710 aio) is currently on sale for $129. So, I've elected to buy a new printer. Hopefully, this will fix the problem.

I had already checked for an updated driver -- I apparently have the latest.

The problem still exists in Safe Mode.

The printer is now printing blue correctly -- but other colors are not.

I ran EtreCheck, here's the result:
