Inserting gap into fcpx

When inserting a placeholder gap into the timeline, will the chapter markers ripple/move to stay in alignment with the clips?

Can't delete blank frame in timeline I had a chapter marker that dissappeared from the timeline. It was still in the index and I could navigate to it by clicking it in the Index. I tried to open it from the index to delete it in the timeline.. it would not open. I could not delete it in the index either. When I navigate to the place where the chapter marker is missing there was a single frame clip. I deleted it. Now there is a blank frame with no clip. It does not close when I try to drag the neighboring clips. It does not delete because it's blank, nothing to select When I play past this blank frame the clip after it runs audio with nothing in the viewer. I've restarted the app. no luck. Any ideas?

Clip editing in final cut pro x Simple question, but I can't figure out the answer. Normally when I edit a clip in the timeline (cut a piece out or trim from the edge), the other clips automatically close that space and the entire clip moves together. In a recent editing session, I must have turned off a feature or changed a setting because now the clips don't stay together. Every trim or edit leaves a gap and I theoretically have to move each piece over so that they stay connected. Don't know how to reset this feature/setting because I don't know what to look for or what it's called. I know it's a simple fix. Please help! Thanks

Automatic placement/seamless dropping in of clips Hi all I';m sure I used to have the ability in fcpx for clips to drop in automatically after a previous clip. Right now i have to drag each clip in my timeline to be one after another - a very tedious, manual, long process Can anyone be a lifesaver and advise what i NEED to change please? in my example below you can see the tiniest gap after the red line/cursor thing. i just want a clip to be seamlessly fall in one after another screenshot attached! thanks so much

In addition to what Tom said: this one is pretty easy to test directly. Experiment. Add a clip, add a chapter marker, then insert a gap before. What do you see?

Depends where in the timeline you place the gap. The answer I think is it probably will in most circumstances.

I was used to Final Cut Express where the markers would stay put when inserting a gap or other media. FCPX is very nice!
