2018 Mac Mini monitor wake from sleep and power light

What app? Is that on a CD that comes with the monitor or do you have to download it somewhere?

I don't know if there is any way to let others know. Once in a while this doesn't work, but most of the time, it will.

It doesn't matter what app I am using. It works on any. I usually have two or three at least up at a time. I think the mac mini is really slow to wake up and that is part of the problem.

Also, my late 2009 mini has 0 problems with the current 55 in tv im using for a monitor. HDMI using a Hisense tv.

I have same issue. Come on Apple you need to fix this....

Ugh, wish I had done this. Apple has some serious QC issues these days.

Today it worked perfectly... but I'm sure there will be a "next time", and next time I will try the power cord and post the response!

I have the same problem with Mac mini 2018 I5 3GHz and Philips 276E8VJSB 4K. I tried it with official Belkin HDMI 2.1 and nothing, I still have the same problem.

Hmmm. Multiple manufacturers of monitor, one common denominator: Apple's Mac Mini.

I'm going to go with, "Apple problem."

Holy crap, that worked! Same problem - Bought a Mac Mini on Wednesday, and have been struggling to figure out a way for it to wake the display consistently. Is there a way to upvote this post? There has to be a dozen different forums around the internet right now filled with 2018 Mac Mini owners trying to solve this same problem.

Absolute same problem here with Mac mini 2018 and LG 27UK850-W. I erased ssd and did a fresh install of Mojave. problem persists. what I found out: Mac seems to wake up but login screen does not show up. so what I found out is to simply insert you password without a screen and the hit enter again. just imagine the login screen and voila… the desktop appears. just remember the steps to login… try it on a restart without problems to remember the procedure.

other notes: I installed every possible app from LG support (dual display, true color etc) but none of them solves the problems. worst case is to simply hold power button to force shut down. after that the password reset will appear which takes up to 10 minutes to bypass that. I first encountered the problem with one LG 27UK850-W. then I purchased a second one from another dealer because I thought it would be a rare problem with the one display. but I have the problem with both displays! so it seems obvious its a Mac related problem. I tried to connect with HDMI and/or USB-C and several usb-c ports. does not make any difference. at the end its still connected via usb-c.
