2018 Mac Mini monitor wake from sleep and power light

I just got my 2018 Mac Mini Wednesday and hooked it up to my LG Ultra 4K monitor via USB C. Works great except:

The monitor won't turn back on when I wake the mini from sleep. The only way I've found to get it on is to unplug the USB C from the back of the monitor and then plug it back in. The mini seems to wake fine (because my Apple Watch says it logged me in to my mini), but the monitor won't come back on. I have not tried another monitor yet...
The power indicator light on the front of the mini stays on solid even when sleeping.

Anyone else having these issues?

SOLVED!!

I had no idea that there was an app for the LG monitor...duh. Installed app and it did a software update and voila...works like it should now!

I have the same problem with Mac mini 2018 I5 3GHz and Philips 276E8VJSB 4K. I tried it with official Belkin HDMI 2.1 and nothing, I still have the same problem.

Hmmm. Multiple manufacturers of monitor, one common denominator: Apple's Mac Mini.

Forgot to add: For USB-C connections, use Apple Thunderbolt 3 cables instead of monitor-provided.
