Bent Macbook Pro Base

-MacBook Pro (retina 13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports)

-The "base" (keyboard half, not display half) is slightly bent, I believe this happened roughly 3 months ago. It is just toward the bottom left corner that won't quite close.

-Display got all messed up (due to display bending) about 2 weeks ago (sent to apple and they replaced display).

-Is it possible that the base bend a) caused the first display to break and b) could cause any subsequent displays to break?

-If so, what is my best course of action to prevent this? I was thinking about just lining the inside of that corner of the display with something soft/firm so that it won't be pressed against a bent base... (the reason I am nervous is that I am a college student so my laptop is constantly in my backpack with a good amount of textbook etc. pressure on it, which is inevitable.) Any other ideas/products to protect it? Much appreciated, thank you all!!User uploaded fileUser uploaded file

I would say yes.

If this was warranty work why not replace the upper case as well, to avoid the same problem all over again ?

Three parts :

lower case (bottom panel)

upper case (typically includes the key board/trackpad)

display
