Apple ID Issue When Trying to Update Software

My Apple store ID is anyuser@abc.com and I successfully sign is as such. Strangely enough though, I have an update pending for iMovie and when I got into Apple Store to apply the update, it prompts me for my password but the ID displayed in the prompt box is anotheruser@zyx.com and won't let me update the user in the prompt box to reflect my correct ID - it will only let me enter a password for this user (who isn't me).

Any thoughts?

That's interesting you suggest that. I would have originally downloaded iMovie many many years ago, and it's entirely possible I entered a false name for the download/update.

Are you aware of a way to correct this? It's strange that I'm logged-in to Apple Store under my correct ID, but it remembers this other ID under only that software update..

Normally, that indicates the version of iMovie currently installed was downloaded/installed using the @zyx.com ID.Has anyone else used the computer/device?

Unless you can remember the old ID, your only option is to delete iMovie, and download it using your current ID. All purchases are tied to the ID used when making the purchase.
