how do i update photos?

I just constructed a 24-page PhotoBook using OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite, and when I try to order the book

I get a message saying my Photos App version is too old, and I need to update it.

After trying to find where to get this update, unsuccessfully, here I am asking the Community.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Apple does no longer offer print services. Even after upgrading to macOS 10.14 Mojave and Photos 4.0 you will be no longer able to get the book printed by Apple. The upgrade will allow you to convert the book with a project extension to a new format and have it printed by a third party service, like Mimeo or others. But after upgrading to Photos 4.0 you will no longer be able to format books, calendars, cards with Apple's native tools at all. They have been removed in Photos 4.0. You will not even be able to create a PDF of a book.

since your book is already finished, you could save it as a PDF file and send it to a different print service, for example Presto Photos:

To create a PDF file of your book see: Preview a print project in Photos or iPhoto to avoid issues - Apple Support

Thank you for reaching out with your suggestions on where to go with my concerns.

Right now, I'm uploading my Apple PhotoBook, completed in Photos App, to Shutterfly.

Haven't got results yet, but hopeful.

Thanks for informing me about upgrading to a more recent OS, and how Photos was removed.

I just wanted to stay with Yosemite 10.10.5, because I also run VMWare on this MacBook Air

and upgrading to newer OS will kill that (unless of course, I pay more to upgrade VMWare).

This whole thing has been a vicious circle, and I feel Apple could have done better as to informing

PhotoBook users that they are wasting their time with configuring books they cannot buy (from Apple).

Silver lining?.....Shutterfly offers 50% off photo books right now !
