MacBook Pro destroyed USB-C peripherals
My 2017 15 inch MacBook Pro has destroyed two external screens and one keyboard connected to it via USB-C when the power adaptor plugged was in to the computer. All of the peripherals died with an electrical burning smell. I tested the voltage coming out of the USB ports with a voltmeter and got a reading of 19 volts on one of them. It appears to be exactly the same issue as this: Macbook Pro frying USB peripherals
I'll be returning my computer to Apple and asking them to compensate me for the expensive devices that the computer destroyed.
MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017), macOS Mojave (10.14.1)
