Brand new iPad Pro & Pencil not pairing

I can’t get my new iPad Pro and my new second gen Apple Pencil to work.

I have tried rebooting the iPad Pro.

I have tried charging the pencil separately via the lightning connector.

I have checked that the iPad Pro Bluetooth is on.

I have checked that the pencil is on the right hand side of the iPad Pro and connected magnetically

I have checked that the Bluetooth is working by connecting other devices.

I have tightened and checked the tip of the Apple Pencil to make sure it seems okay.

The only thing that doesn’t seem to want to work is the Apple Pencil.

Has anybody got any bright ideas? Are their problems with the new second-generation pencils?

Thanks and advance everybody

Greetings, Nettyweb.

I see that you're unable to pair your Apple Pencil (2nd generation) with your iPad Pro. Great job on the troubleshooting you've used, and I'm happy to help.

Use Apple Pencil with your iPad or iPad Pro

If your Apple Pencil won't pair with your iPad

  1. Make sure to center your Apple Pencil on the magnetic connector on the right edge of the iPad.
  2. Restart your iPad, then try to pair again.
  3. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.
  4. On the same screen, look under My Devices for your Apple Pencil. If you see it, tap User uploaded file. Then tap Forget this Device.
  5. Connect your Apple Pencil in to your iPad and tap the Pair button when it appears after a few seconds.
  6. If you don't see the Pair button, wait for one minute while your Apple Pencil charges. Then try connecting your Apple Pencil again and wait until you see the Pair button.
  7. If you still don’t see the Pair button, contact Apple Support.

Take care!
